Who else is interested in riding in the Tarwheel Century in Elizabeth City (the full English Century)? Need to put together a group soon so we can start increasing the mileage one day each weekend.

I was thinking more about the Knotts Island century on May 10. Knotts Island Century

I too looked at the Knotts Island Century but I'm a little leery of the over one hour break off the bike for the ferry ride. Seems like your legs would really tighten up with that kind of break.

Besides, the Tarwheel is the month prior...good chance for a practice run!

I think the Tarwheel sounds good. Donna was thinking about it too.
I can ride longer on Sundays if I'm not racing in a crit. We should increase the milage by 10 miles every Sunday until the group can ride 100. But then again if you can ride 75 the thrill of the ride will carry you the other 25. We can talk about schedule after our ride on Saturday.

Glad to hear you're in! Agree with the plan to push up the mileage each weekend. I took a look at the calendar and figure we can increase the mileage by 10 on one of the days each weekend. I agree with you...we probably only need to increase to about 70.

We'll talk at the shop about which days to go long. At a minimum lets bump it up starting this Sunday.

Still hoping to have some more FFC riders join in!

I have the snowball #2 crit this Sunday, so I won't be riding from the shop in the morning. The race starts at 12:00 if your'e not busy.

Hey everybody!

My wife just told me tonight that a class she is taking that has been changed to April 26. It looks like I've got little kiddies for the weekend of the Tarwheel. I'm doing the Dismal Dash TT this weekend, but after that I don't have any races planned for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to come out and train with you guys!

I would really like to do the Knotts Island Century (May 10), so the miles will come in handy!

I too will be there... Goal is 100 but _base_d on how the sweet spot is doing might only do 64...

What time is everyone going down?

There is a mandatory riders meeting at 0730. We'll try and be there about 20-30 minutes prior to that.

I couldn't find a cue sheet for this year's race but I did find cue sheets from the 2006 Tarwheel at http://www.rivercitycyclingclub.com/ rccc_routes.htm

We're planning on riding the full American (English) Century.
