Hi guys, I thought I would share the email and attachment that I received with our registration confirmation. We will be riding together leaving from the shop at 6ish!
At the registration check-in on Saturday, you will receive your cue sheets and t-shirts.
Routes: The Tour is completely on public roads except for driveways leading to rest stops. (Green street signs are public roads, brown street signs are private roads.) Directional arrows are painted on the right edge of the pavement at all public road intersections. Remember that mileage on cue sheets are “car miles.” Your “bike miles” may vary a little.
Support: Professional service from Salisbury Cycle & Fitness, Inc. will be available at the start/finish area and at the lunch stop. Several marked vehicles will be riding the routes and available all day to assist riders. Most rest stops can contact them.
• Police and Rescue Squads are aware of the Tour and its routes.
• If you have a medical or police emergency, call 911 as soon as you can from a cell phone or other nearby phone.
• If you need service or other assistance from the Tour, contact host personnel at any stop.
Rest Stops: Each rest stop will have liquids, light snacks, a toilet, and most will have a telephone available. Stops will be open on a published schedule. If you reach a stop before or after its scheduled operating time, service may not be available. Lunch will be available on each route.
Registration at the Start/Finish: Registration is only available on Saturday. PLEASE check-in at the registration area. Light refreshments will be provided at the start/finish area before the ride and upon completion of your ride. However, if you return after the closing time (approximately 6:00 PM), service is not guaranteed. Please pick up your Between the Waters T-shirt when you check in at the registration area before your ride begins.
Friday Fun Ride: Those who wish to participate in the Fun Ride on Friday afternoon need to meet at the Yellow Duck Bakery in Exmore at 4:00 PM. From 13, take the Business 13 Exit to downtown Exmore, and the Yellow Duck Bakery is located at 3312 Main Street.
Wachapreague Area: There are many sights to see in and around the Wachapreague area including: the Turner Bronze Foundry and Gallery in Melfa; Kerr Place, an historic Federal-_style_ home built in 1799 in Onancock; the Debtor’s Prison and St. James Church in the town of Accomac; and the Eastern Shore Railroad Museum in Parksley.
Directions: NORTH: From Salisbury, MD take Route 13 South approximately 60 miles to Rt. 180. Turn left and go 5 miles to Wachapreague. SOUTH: From the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel follow Route 13 North approximately 40 miles to Rt. 180. Turn right and go 5 miles to Wachapreague. Watch for the signs to parking and registration.
The Between the Waters Bike Tour promises water views on both sides of the Eastern Shore peninsula and from the grounds of private homes that most visitors to the Shore are not able to visit. This year’s Tour starts and finishes overlooking the seaside marshlands of Wachapreague, the “flounder capital” of the world. A few of the featured Rest Stops include:
