Which is better for avoiding the dreaded 2-lane, no shoulder, heavy traffic scenario? I realize that both routes have some of it, but the less, the gooder.

1) West (left) on Hanbury Rd., then 3 miles north (right) on Battlefield Blvd.
2) North on Hilwell Rd., then west (left) on Mt. Pleasant, then north (right) onto Battlefield Blvd. for what appears to be ~1.5 miles.

OOPS- MY BAD: Mods, please feel free to move this to "Rider-sponsored" rides, or whichever forum is most appropriate.

I would go Hilwell to Mt Pleasant...then Battlefield. Avoid as much of Battlefield as possible. Hilwell is actually a very nice ride.
